At it again.

Hey all!  Hope everyone has had a good week.  It's been a crazy one here at my homestead.  It's been one of those "I have the best intentions" sort of weeks without anything working like I planned it to.  Today I still have to go to the third grocery store of the weekend to pick up the things I forgot at the first 2, and this morning I gave the hubs his gift of an unfinished frame with a picture of the boys in it.  It was supposed to be an awesome mod podge collage frame that I made, but instead it's plain raw wood.  I was going to make it for him Friday but he said he was coming home for lunch...which turned into 2 o'clock  and so by the time he left it was time to pick up the pictures I had taken of the boys.  At least they turned out cute.  I still can't get over the fact that I took them with my phone.  My galaxy 3 is the bomb!  Yeah that's right...the bomb...I'm bringing it back...

Aren't they adorable?

This is the one that went in the frame.  :)

Anyway, after picking up the pictures, shopping and wrapping the pictures, I was off to my gig.  A ton of friends and family came that I have been missing dearly....And even Johnsie got to come thanks to my awesome mom watching the baby.  I have to say it was one of the best times I've had playing music in a long time.  You know it's going to make for a special night when people actually clap for you.  ;)

In other news, I finished some hair pieces for Anna...She's one of Michelle's "vintage" brides which we will have a little series highlighting her wedding coming up in the next few weeks on our youtube channel.  I made her a couple things because she wasn't exactly sure of what she wanted...This is how they turned out.

Pretty huh???

The little shiny middle pieces, and the little sprig coming from the flower on the right, were taken from her grandmother's wedding headpiece that's over 60 years old!!!  I thought it was so nice that she trusted me with such important pieces.  :)  Fingers crossed!  Hope she likes them!

And last but not least...The second youtube vid is up!!!  It was a day I decided to show Michelle some of my design tricks and she needed some last minute supplies for an upcoming wedding expo....So we decided to invade hobby lobby with the kids.  Yikes...  Anyway, Hope you enjoy it!

Happy Fathers Day!!!

Music, Dresses, and You Tube, Oh My!

Hey peeps!  So I have been so behind and I totally appologize for that.  I last blogged in March and it's now June.  Yeah.
So needless to say, from time to time I procrastinate.  Please don't let this reflect on my business.  Believe me that's what's usually keeping me from doing things like keeping up on my blog.  I'm not the most organized, but I do get the job done  :)

Anyhoo, here's the 411 with what's been going on...
I have so much going on right now.  If I ever wondered if I was a "jack of all trades, master of none"...  I've answered that lately with a definitive (and exhausting) yes. For those of you don't know, I am a musician.  Since my 2nd son has been hanging out with me in the world, I've gone back to gigging at local bars and restaurants to help make ends meet here at the homestead.  Making a few extra bucks and taking what pressure I can off my awesome husband as he has become the main bread winner around here.  I've even talked to my awesome partner in crime Michelle about doing music for some weddings in the near future.  I actually have done quite a few weddings, and thought maybe I should put myself out there again.  Help a friend all the while taking a few extra dollars  home.  So there's that.

Also....I am pretty sure I am going to veer off into...dare I say it...bridal gowns.  I know it seems crazy to put more pressure on myself, but I feel this CRAZY strong pull to do it.  It will be a while before I unveil the collection because I want to take my time and get the designs and details right, but I am very excited.  They are probably going to appeal more to the "bohemian" "risk taking" bride.  I am starting with 5 designs that I can somewhat easily mass produce just in case it takes off better than I had imagined.  And I may even throw a few re-vamped vintage gowns into the mix.  I'll be on the look out for some older gowns anyway.  Vintage will always be my first love.  :)

And last but not least!!!  It's here!!! Today Michelle and I will be cutting the ribbon on our very own you tube channel!  So I guess if I am leaving you in the dark here on my blog, (Which I am going to try and change for you this summer... You can head on over to our channel and see what's up.  This is one thing that I have kept up on for the most part.  I think having Michelle help with ideas and encouragement has been a Godsend!  And so with that said...  Take a look!  Also, feel free to leave questions or comments.  I think in the future I am going to try and set up a Q and A episode, so your question could be featured!  Pretty cool huh?
